Jesus Came, the Heaven's Adoring - Christmas Hymn / Carol
This is among my favorite hymn texts. However, it is not often sung because of the demand for Christmas favorites with frankly better melodies. I sought to change that with the new setting.
You will notice, it is in the pleasing key of D major and flows nicely, but I liberally use the 6th and the 2nd chords (Em and Bm), especially on the Alleluias. The word, "Alleluia" is one of praise, but the praise offered in this text is much more reflective of the solemn purpose for Christ and his humility.
