Pale the Moonlight - Christmas Hymn
The Christmas Hymn, Pale the Moonlight, presents the contrasting images in the Christmas story, such as:
Dark night vs bright star in the manger
Kingly birth vs a stable birth
Gentle whisper vs all nations celebrating Christmas
Compositionally, I wanted to capture the soft textures used in impressionism with the use of select 7th chords and syncopation , yet maintain a contemporary song style in the use of suspensions and expected resolutions. I hope you like it.
