My Soul Proclaims - Magnificat Hymn
As this is the time of the year many churches use the Magnificat for their services, I thought I'd post my hymn setting of the text. This is included in the Abiding Devotion songbook as well. You will see it is a rather faithful setting of Mary's song after hearing the extraordinary news of her son from the angel, Gabriel. I personally love how she recognizes him as her savior from sin even at the beginning.
This setting is meant for congregational singing. They should pick it up easily. However, it would work well as a female solo as well. I hope you enjoy it.
